If you like Irish music, sing-a-longs, American folk music, sea shanties, and the occasional rock & roll, you'd enjoy hearing local singer and guitarist Dennis Vaughan with his band "Garryowen".  Garryowen includes Neil Foley, a very gifted fiddle player from County Limerick, Ireland, and Rick Avedikian, an equally gifted, but more understandable, bass player, guitarist, and singer from Kensington, MD.

Fred begat Frankie and the rest is history!  The band took form in 1985 when Fred Revell taught son Frankie his first lick on the banjo. The duo spent many hours on the front porch pickin' with Uncle Junior on guitar. Since that time Frankie (banjo, guitar, vocals) has been the Maryland State banjo champion on three occasions (03,04,06.) Recently Dennis Crolley (bass fiddle) has been added to the mix and the Lickety Split Banjo Boys were born in late 2009. Their music is a mix of hard-driving traditional bluegrass, old-time mountain music, gospel and church hymns, and a little improv comedy that is actually funny!

A brilliant multi-instrumentalist and singer from Strabane, County Tyrone, Ireland, Steve's broad repertoire includes traditional and contemporary Irish music as well as blues, folk, bluegrass and country music.  Appearing with Dennis Vaughan.

Born and raised in Shepherdstown, WV, McBee quotes the old-time WV banjo tunes that she learned as major influences in her style of playing and her songwriting. She began playing claw-hammer banjo in the summer of 2005 and has been working on traditional tunes as well as writing original songs since then. Her unique, inviting voice pairs well with the distinctive sound of her 5-string. Artists such as Gillian Welch, Anais Mitchell, Feist, Bonnie Rait and the Indigo Girls have all inspired this young songstress. "I have always been really into female musicians. Not exclusively, but I can relate to the common thread of womanness and really admire it". McBee will get up and sing a WV tune, a catchy melody, a bare-boned a capella, and then a sultry tango piece all with the banjo.

The Scones combine Appalachian and Celtic styles with touches of Cajun 'cooking' and Irish pub fare thrown in for good measure.  Tasty treats for breakfast that go equally well with a glass of wine in the evening.  Featuring Sam Morgan and Mark Walbridge, founding members of Hickory Wind, the award-winning folk group that originated in Berkeley Springs in the mid 70's.
